General
What is spDYN?
What is spDYN?- Answer
spDYN is a service with which machines that only have a dynamic IP can be made accessible by hostname. This makes administration and VPN dial-in possible, for example, without having to first obtain the current IP address on site.
IPv6
Does the server support the use of IPv6 addresses?- Answer
The server also accepts updates from IPv6 addresses. The prerequisite is that an AAAA record has been created for the respective host name. More information about this can be found in the article host management
Update-URL
What is the update URL?- Answer
The update server is accessible via port 80/tcp (plaintext HTTP), as well as on port 443/tcp (HTTPS). If the client supports it, we recommend using the HTTPS server, as the access data is not transmitted unencrypted here.
The IPv4 update URL for spDYN is:
update.spdyn.de/nic/update?hostname=<domain>&myip=<ipaddr>
The IPv6 update URL for spDYN is:
update.spdyn.de/nic/update?hostname=<domain>&myip=<ip6addr>
Update-Token
What is an update token?- Answer
An update token is a special password that allows updating only the host for which it was generated. More information can be found in this article.

Does Securepoint offer an update client for $SOMEOS?- Answer
We only provide the DynDNS update server. All Securepoint- and Terra- firewalls support the use of spDYN.de by default.

Error: urn:acme:error:rateLimited :: There were too many requests of a given type :: Error creating new cert :: Too many certificates already issued for: $SOMEDOMAIN
To relax this limit, an entry in the public-suffix-list has been requested.
The current status of the request can be viewed here.
User and hosts

More hosts
How can more than 5 hosts be managed from one account?- Answer

Once this number is reached, additional hosts can be requested.
This is done by clicking the Request more hosts button.
Reseller portal accounts can manage 200 additional hosts
Move hosts
Can a host be moved to a different account?- Answer
Yes, this option is available now. Information on this can be found under Move host
Forgot username/mail address
Forgot username/mail address- Answer
For data protection reasons we do not have the ability to give out the username and/or the mail address.
No access to the registered email address
No access to the registered email address- Answer
If the access to the registered email address is no longer available, but the access to the spDYN user account is still possible, the hosts can be moved to a new account. This allows the hosts to continue to be administered without restriction. More information in our Wiki article Move host in spDYN.
Deleted hosts
Where are the deleted hosts stored?- Answer
Under "Show host" the option "Show deleted hosts" can be selected.
