Check cable connection to modem:
Correct interface used?
Loose contact?
Log Service:pppd Timeout waiting for PADO packets pppd Unable to complete PPPoE Discovery
Missing PPPoE Active Discovery (PAD) packages
Missing PPPoE Active Discovery (PAD) packages
With "PADO" and "PADS" messages (see Information on PPPoE) the feedback from the Internet provider is missing. Either the "PADI" or "PADR" packets do not reach the provider, or the provider does not send packets back.
Solutions to this are usually:
Wait a little
Restart the modem
Update the interface with the CLI command system update interface, or restart the Securepoint UTM
If a router is used that has been set to a modem state, its configuration should be checked
Check whether the connection requires a VLAN ID. The connection must then be set up as VDSL. The modem may add a VLAN tag by itself.
If no errors can be detected, the provider should be contacted.
