Status: Closed Product: UTM
Component: SSLVPN-Client
Status: confirmed
Affected Version: 12.2.0 - 12.2.1.2
Fix Version: 12.2.2
Date: 03.02.2022 - 13:02
Last update 11.03.2022

Description:

Inside the UTM, SSLVPN client configurations including the SSLVPN client can be downloaded.

To ensure that an up-to-date client can be downloaded regardless of the firmware version of the UTM, the UTM checks once a week for an up-to-date version and, if necessary, updates the client version offered for download.

From 12.2 onwards, problems can occur within the licence check process and thus prevent the SSLVPN client from being updated.

The reason for this is the use of an incorrect path to the licence.

This mainly affects new installations with version 12.2 or newer as well as systems on which a licence renewal was carried out with versions ≧ 12.2

On 2022-02-05, the signature of the drivers for the SSLVPN client will expire.

After this date, installation with older clients may no longer be possible.

Workaround:

As a workaround, the licence can be copied manually on the system to the expected location and the client update can be started manually:

  1. Connect via SSH (with root user) to the UTM
  2. cp /data/securepoint/license /rootdisk/securepoint/ copies the licence
  3. /usr/bin/freshovpn.sh updates the client offered for download

Alternative:

The client can be obtained from GitHub or Sourceforge and the exported configuration then imported manually.
