Parent-Site

The parent site contains the customer number and the name of the reseller.
From this level, (child) sites can be administered and central functions of the portal can be used.

Users can be created for reseller administration sites and for end-user sites.
(In the diagram, green in the reseller section of the parent site and blue for the end customer sites).

Backup agents may not be created in the resellers parent-site. Backup agents for a reseller's company must also be registered in child sites!

Subsite / (end) customer site

A subsite is a subarea within the portal to group together and administer a group of computers to be secured.

We recommend creating a separate subsite and user for each end customer.

For data protection reasons, different end customers must not be organized in the same subsite!

Vault

A vault is a virtual system that is operated in the TERRA CLOUD located in Germany. This system communicates with the backup agents, receives backups and stores them according to the defined retention periods.
In a Vault account the parent site and the subsites are stored and there respectively all configuration settings, backup jobs as well as the backups themselves.
All data is encrypted with AES256. The transfer to the cloud takes place with a further, additional AES128 encryption.

BMR (Bare Metal Restore)

With a "Bare Metal Restore" not only the complete drive with the system partition (usually C:\) is backed up, but also all data necessary for booting (e.g. the boot loader).
To perform a bare metal restore, a restore iso (.iso file) is required. The Restore Iso is based on Windows PE and additionally contains a recovery software, this is started automatically as soon as the system boots into the Iso. This iso can be created by yourself and used for the BMR restore of all systems.
