Preliminary note

Restored files can be either

single files, folders or volumes in existing computers
or
bootable images. For this, the backup job must have been configured as a BMR backup (Bare Metal Restore).

The restoration is done under / Choose end user site / Reiter

File-based restoration

Restore from file-based jobs

Select elements	Selection of elements to be restored

Image-based restoration

Complete data volumes	Restores the backed up volume to the target drive as a new volume. The target drive will be overwritten - not bootable - in the process
Single file or folder	Makes the safe set available as a temporary drive on the target system. The backed up volume can then be accessed via the Explorer.

Use total available bandwidth	Uses all available bandwidth for recovery.

Volume to be restored c:\Volume (nnGB)	Drive letter, name or ID of the volume including size information. The target volume must be the same size or larger.
Only with the Full data volumes option Target volume	Displays a list of all volumes on the computer and their size. The system partition or volumes that are too small cannot be selected and applied.
Only with the Single file or folder option Deployment B:	Select drive letter under which the safe set will be temporarily mounted. Deploying large volumes may take several minutes. Windows Explorer may not respond until the process is complete.

Bare Metal Restore (BMR)

Create Restore Iso Image

To perform a bare metal restore, a restore iso (.iso file) is required.
The Restore Iso is based on Windows PE and additionally contains a recovery software that restores the safe set bootable. This process is started automatically as soon as the system boots into the iso.
This iso must be created by the user, but can then be used for BMR backups for all systems.

Installing and launching the Bootable Media Creator
Download and install Windows ADK
Select target directory for .iso file
Create Bootable Media Image

his . iso image can be used to restore any BMR safe sets

BMR restoration

Restoration to hardware:
- Boot hardware from CD /USB stick
Restore to hypervisor:
- Mount .iso as boot drive

Select time zone and keyboard layout
Start Wizard
Enter login credentials for the Vault account
Select computer to be restored
Select backup job
Select safe set to be restored
Enter encryption password from backup job
Drag and drop the desired drives into the system to be recovered.
Display of the summary. Activate checkbox to start restoration
Restoration performed successfully
The system is restarted with Reboot and the restoration is completed
