This article refers to a Beta version
Introduction
The following steps must be followed to change the Internet connection from a PPPoE dial-up to an Ethernet connection with a router. The connection via the router replaces the PPPoE dial-up.
Changes to Internet connections are to be made on site only!
Requirements
The following must be known:
- The IP address of the router
- The IP address and netmask of the UTM in the transfer network
Implementation
- Under Area Network interfaces the zones on the wanX interface can be viewed and written down. These are then assigned to the new ethX or Ax interface. This facilitates the adoption of the network objects and the set of rules.
- The IP address of the UTM from the transfer network to the router is placed on the corresponding ethX or Ax interface.
notempty! Other devices connected directly to an internal network of the router are not secured by the UTM and may endanger the network! - Previously used zones can be placed on the ethX or Ax interface.
- Now the corresponding wanX interface can be deleted by clicking .
- Click on Area Routing button . A new default route must be added using the IP address of the router.
- Network objects must be checked for fixed IP addresses or interface names and adjusted accordingly.
