The settings of the UTM appliance are saved in a configuration file. The configuration files are organised in the menu Configuration Area Local Configuration.
The users and - in a separate database - the Captive Portal users are also saved in the configuration.
Automatic backups of the configuration should be carried out with regular cloud backups. More on this in the Wiki article Cloud Backups
If the installation wizard was run when the UTM was started for the first time, it automatically created a configuration file. The file has the title configuration-wizard-Date-Time.
Saves the current configuration of the UTM in the selected configuration file.
This automatically makes this configuration file the active configuration. The StatusCurrent configuration is then displayed next to the configuration file
Set start configuration

The StatusBoot configuration status is then displayed next to the configuration file.

Load configuration
Set current configuration
Loads the selected configuration as the currently used version.
The StatusCurrent configuration is then displayed next to the configuration file
Any unsaved changes in the active configuration will be lost.
If a different configuration is loaded, you can select whether the current Captive Portal user list should be replaced by the user list from the configuration to be loaded (Yes), or whether the existing user list should remain unchanged (No).

Import configuration
Import configuration
Imports the configuration of a (different) Securepoint UTM. Select the config file with Browse Import with the Upload button.
The appliance being imported into must have the same or a higher version than the configuration file being imported.
As of version 12, only configurations from a UTM v11.8.x and higher are imported.
If an older configuration file must be used, it can first be imported into a (virtual) UTM with version 11.8.x. From there, the configuration can be exported again and imported into a v12.
